Independence
apispine is operator-funded and editorially independent. No vendor is paid to be listed, ranked, or featured. Vendor partnerships, where they exist, are disclosed on the page in question per our disclosure policy.
How we research
For every entry in our index, we draw from:
- The vendor's official documentation, pricing page, and changelog
- Public status pages and historical uptime data
- Community-reported issues on GitHub, Stack Overflow, and vendor forums
- Hands-on testing of free tiers and trial accounts where available
- Independent analyst reports for enterprise context
How we write
We write for working operators — not marketing buyers. We avoid marketing language and prefer concrete claims (specific pricing, specific feature presence/absence) over generic framing. Where a claim is non-obvious or time-sensitive, we cite a source you can verify.
Fact-checking
Every entry passes through a fact-checking gate before publish:
- All pricing figures are sourced directly from the vendor's pricing page with an as-of date
- All version numbers and feature claims are verified against the vendor's docs
- External citations link to the canonical source (not aggregators or affiliate URLs)
- Comparative claims (e.g. "X is faster than Y") are backed by either our own testing or a cited third-party benchmark
Currency + freshness
Our index is refreshed continuously. Pricing and feature data is re-checked weekly. Major vendor releases are reflected within 7 days. Every page displays a Last updated date — if you find one stale, please tell us.
AI use
We use AI tools (LLMs, image generation) to assist with drafting and data normalization. All published content passes through human editorial review and the fact-checking gate described above. We do not publish raw AI output.
Conflict of interest
We do not own equity in vendors that we list or compare. If a future conflict of interest arises, it will be disclosed on relevant pages.
